Galeries Lafayette COVID-19 measures

Our priority at Galeries Lafayette is the community’s health and well-being – which is why we are taking extensive precautions to support your safety.
In light of recent events and the spread of Covid-19, our response team has elevated the safety measures enforcing strict measures on the shopping process with regard to government’s guidelines to maximize the protection of our employees and safeguard the safety of our customers.

What social distancing measures will be in place to keep customers safe?

The safety and wellbeing of our customers and employees remain our highest priority. In line with government guidance, we have introduced significant measures around the store to support social distancing. These include designated entrance and exit doors, as well as signage and directions to guide customers around the store and inform them about social distancing. Additionally, sophisticated technology has been installed to limit the number of customers in-store at any one time.

Will I need to wear a face-covering in-store?

Face coverings are strictly mandatory in-store for all our customers and colleagues. This rule will be monitored by our security team, and those who do not wear a face-covering will be asked to leave. If you are exempt from wearing a face covering, we kindly ask that you carry documentation to help our teams to identify, support, and protect you.

How is Galeries Lafayette maintaining store sanitation and hygiene?

Galeries Lafayette has introduced enhanced sanitation procedures to maintain our existing high standards of cleanliness. The store is frequently cleaned throughout the day by a dedicated team. This includes escalators, doors, and surfaces. A full clean of the store takes place outside trading hours every day. Hand sanitiser stations have been installed throughout the store for customers, and all till counters have hand sanitiser available for customer use. Colleagues also have access to hand sanitiser stations and handwashing areas throughout the store and in back-of-house areas. We encourage all customers to regularly wash and sanitise their hands while shopping at Galeries Lafayette.

Is it safe to receive parcels from countries where there have been cases of COVID-19?

The World Health Organization (WHO) says it is safe to receive packages and we’re following all their official advice. Our delivery partners have also taken further measures to carry out a zero contact delivery process where you won’t need to sign for your package.

In addition, we are closely following the latest guidance from the World Health Organization (WHO), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), local governments and public health agencies. We will update our practices accordingly and keep you at the heart of everything we do. For more information, please visit the World Health Organization website.
